The Graduate School of Psychology enrolls students in April. The selections are conducted through a document screening of the application documents, written examinations for psychology and English, and an interview for a research plan in Japanese.

Admission Policies

■ Master’s Course

We ask applicants for the master’s course:
1) to possess a broad range of basic knowledge on the various areas in psychology and to understand appropriate methods for data collection and analysis,
2) to be able to read scientific articles published both inside and outside of Japan and comprehend their contents,
3) to try to solve various problems of human behaviors in modern societies through research activities as psychologists,
4) to try to contribute the development of society as researchers or practitioners, and
5) to try to publish research findings to scientific journals as psychologists with a set of well-trained research skills.

■ Doctoral Course

We ask applicants for the doctoral course:
1) to possess a professional knowledge on the various areas in psychology and to understand the resent research trends,
2) to be able to comprehend their scientific articles published both inside and outside of Japan and appropriately fit their own research task into the recent research trends,
3) to try to solve various problems of human behaviors in modern societies through research activities as psychologists,
4) to try to contribute the development of the academic world or the society as professional researchers, and
5) to try to publish research findings to academic journals as psychologists with a set of well-trained research skills.
